MODERNIZATION OF THE COMPLETE IT INFRASTRUCTURE 

CHALLENGE

Despite Pletscher Metallbau AG's strong focus on modernization and digitization, the original IT infrastructure was still based on a local server. This was used not only by Pletscher Metallbau AG but also by another company. A complete network separation and the migration of two companies involves risks and places high demands on the project management. An additional requirement was that all employees on the construction site should now be able to access the IT environment in order to create more efficient processes. Therefore, it had to be ensured that employees could apply 3D CAD plans from the cloud with the same performance as with the local application and directly on site.

SOLUTION

By migrating to our flexible and highly secure private cloud, we were able to create a solid and modern basis that generates significant added value for Pletscher Metallbau AG. The network separation and the complex migration could be carried out without interrupting Pletscher Metallbau AG's work. In addition, all users can now also use the CAD plans externally. This with the same performance as before. Pletscher Metallbau AG is also optimally equipped for the future with regard to BIM Cloud projects, as specific users with exactly the required resources for the respective project can be activated and deactivated again after completion. Thanks to the complete integration of Microsoft 365, Pletscher Metallbau AG is now also up to date in the office area.
