FROM RIGID ON-PREMISE SYSTEMS TO FLEXIBLE PRIVATE CLOUD SOLUTIONS

CHALLENGE

LAEMMLE Chemicals AG faced the challenge that its existing on-premise IT environment was too rigid and inflexible. Various organisational changes led to a growing need for an IT infrastructure that could be quickly and efficiently adapted to new circumstances. It was particularly important that employees could continue to work with their familiar Intune-integrated FAT clients without having to get used to new systems or interfaces. At the same time, IT security needed to be improved, especially with regard to mobile working and secure access to company resources. In addition, optimising IT costs played a key role, as various services needed to be consolidated and provided more efficiently.

SOLUTION

First, MTF conducted a comprehensive feasibility study, which showed that migrating to the MTF Business Cloud would have a positive impact on scalability, flexibility and costs – a decisive criterion for awarding the contract. The newly implemented solution comprises a server environment in MTF's private cloud with seamless integration of Intune-managed FAT clients, successfully achieving the goal of ‘servers in the private cloud without VDI desktops’. This allowed users to continue working in their usual way without having to adapt to new interfaces or systems.

The technical focus was on servers based on the latest operating systems and the Microsoft Always-On VPN solution, which enables mobile and secure working via the local client in conjunction with servers in the cloud.
