The renowned Schaffhausen watch manufacturer IWC relies on maximum availability and security for its own IT systems. In cooperation with the MTF Swiss Cloud specialists, the leading watch manufacturer is changing its IT system to two geo-redundant data centers specially created for IWC, which are based on MTF Datacenter technology.
With the construction of the new production and technology centre at the new Merishausertal site, IWC is creating the latest manufacturing technologies with the highest quality and precision for existing as well as new IWC manufactory plants. The strategic expansion for four hundred qualified employees requires not only the latest production technology but also state-of-the-art IT systems for a trouble-free, modern production process. Constant availability and high security are important success factors for the luxury watch company in the age of digitalization. The flexible handling of IT resources must also be guaranteed in order to meet new requirements as efficiently as possible in the future.
The two georedundant data centres implemented by IWC and MTF guarantee maximum availability, even in the event of large-scale disasters. The two redundant data centers are completely identical. In the worst-case scenario, each of the data centers can take over the entire operation on its own. Thanks to the software-based technology, new security functions or services can be implemented within a few minutes. MTF's comprehensive 7x24-hour service offers support and assistance for technical challenges at all times, even in exceptional situations. The data centers implemented for IWC are the same high-class technology that is available to SMEs in the MTF Business Cloud.
